Blackened Clay Kadai

This blackened clay kadai from Green Heirloom is made using a very old traditional pottery technique. A normal clay kadai is kilned once, but this kadai is put in the kiln twice. The second time, potters bake the kadai stacked together with wood and sawdust at a high temperature. This blackens the kadai and also makes it very strong and durable. It can withstand very high temperatures and last longer.
